Armando Galarraga's Perfect Game
There will have to be an asterik from now on next to Armando Galarraga's name as he was finishing out a perfect game in the 9th inning with 2 outs leading his team the Detroit Tigers up 3-0 against the Cleveland Indians.
Every fan left in the stadium was on their feet cheering and than the unthinkable happened, no not a base hit but rather a ground ball to the first base and a throw to the pitcher who caught the ball with maybe only the slightest bobble in the world and the umpire remarked SAFE :(
The crowd was angry and Armando obviously just had his night ruined by this call and said after the game that he feels worse for veteran umpire Jim Joyce's call which he admitted after watching the tape that it was a bad call and the runner was out.
So now the question begs what will happen with the replay in Major League Baseball and when will the commission come to a decision on how to handle this miscall?
